The Story Behind the Page
I never thought of myself as a writer. It was always something I would go to naturally as a child. I would find myself with my headphones on, notebook in hand, lost in my own thoughts, writing whatever came to mind. As I grew up, I continued to relay on my writing to help process my thoughts, feelings, and the world around me. Instead of turning to a therapist to deal with heartache from a breakup I would gap a notebook and write about my experiences, emotions, and the journey of it all. For years, I have wanted to start my own blog. I wanted a place to share my thoughts and creativity, but I didn't have a clear direction on how to bring it together. Which is where The Natural Witch comes in.
The Natural Witch

Discovering My Power
I have always believed that the universe speaks to you; you just have to listen. I guess you could say I experienced a form of divine intervention after a bad breakup of three years. I felt lost. It was almost as if I had lost myself and didn't know how to find her again. I then lost my job of seven years and found myself unemployed for the first time in my life. I was scared, ashamed, and felt stuck. It felt like I was suffocating. Then I began noticing unusual moments that stayed with me. One summer afternoon, a butterfly landed on my deck table and faced me as if it was looking right at me, that happened three times. Later one fall morning a deer stood in my front yard, looked right at me, than ran off. In winter, on my son's birthday, two cardinals moved back and forth between my front yard and the bushes beside my house. Earlier this year, another deer appeared in my back yard, it looked at me then quietly ran off. I felt in my heart that these moments were meaningful. they lead me to begin a journey of self-refection, healing, and soul-searching.
The Silent Hour
Along with everything that occurred throughout summer, fall, winter, came during time of feeling lost. I started to doing research on myself and began looking into the history and the spirituality about Wicca. One Saturday morning, without thinking, I started to cry. Through my tears, I began screaming, "Ireland, take me to Ireland. I want to go home to Ireland." It felt like an impulse, a reflex. I wasn't even thinking about Irland at the time. Once I got through that moment, I really started diving deeper into myself through reflecting research. Why did that even happen? Why did the animal encounters and the calling toward o a place I never been feel so specific? I couldn't put my finger on it. Then I saw a video about the silent hour, so I decided to try one Saturday afternoon. I sat in my room with the window open, sat in silence and let my mind drift. The events that occurred came back to me, and I asked myself the question, "Am I a Witch?" Then my mind when blank. Soon after, without thinking, I found my first diary and began reading it.

Full Circle
As I was sitting there reading my diary, I came across this sentence, "I want to be a writer, I am a writer." I was stunted, I wasn't even thinking about this. Then the question came back to my mind "Am I a Witch"? I started to look up what is a witch, what makes a witch, and what the signs that you are a witch. As I sat there thinking, something inside me started to hear the calling. I remember years ago hearing whispers in the wind-a name, a heartbeat, and a feeling. Then, by the time the hour was finished it finally hit me. My three cats were not random: one white, one orang, and one black. The events with nature were not random. Calling out for Ireland, the place where Wicca was born, was not random. And finding my way back to my twelve-year- old self saying "I am a writer" was not random. The universe to screaming at me. I am now finally listening. Which brought me to my conclusion, I am A Natural Witch.
